Srinagar: President of Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti has said that unemployment in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is nearly 38 per cent.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti Speaking at a party programme in Srinagar said the authorities in the territory have failed to generate adequate employment and address growing economic distress among people.

She said that the administration was increasingly dependent on outsourcing, temporary engagements and what she described as “backdoor” recruitment instead of creating stable employment opportunities.
