Muzaffarabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell (JKLC) organized a conference in Muzaffarabad to pay tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru and Muhammad Maqbool Butt.
According to Kashmir24, India had hanged Muhammad Afzal Guru in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on February 9, 2013 and Muhammad Maqbool Butt in the same jail on February 11, 1984. Their bodies remain buried in the premises of the jail.
The conference was attended by a large number of leaders of political, religious and social organizations, lawyers, intellectuals, human rights activists, civil society representatives and youth.
The speakers included Spokesperson for the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Shaukat Javed Mir, Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-u-Islam, Central Chairperson of Muslim Conference Women’s Wing Samia Sajid, Director of Liberation Cell Sardar Sajid, Ali Shan, Media Coordinator of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell, Ashfaq Ahmed Awan, Syed Umair, Munir Konshi and APHC-AJK Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt.
