Tensions continue in Manipur; 20 people including Indian soldier held hostage

 

New Delhi: The ongoing tension in India’s restive northeastern state of Manipur has once again intensified where 20 people, including an Indian soldier, have been taken hostage by an armed group.

According to Kashmir24, this incident has raised new concerns about the already ongoing unrest and internal conflicts in the state.

According to Indian media reports, during the growing tension in the state, people associated with the Kuki community took 20 people hostage in an operation, including an Indian soldier.

According to an Indian journal report, Manipur police said this incident is the result of an ongoing clash between two ethnic groups, the Kuki and the Naga. The state has been witnessing clashes and tension between different groups for the past several months.
