IIOJK High Court upholds detention of Kashmiri youth under draconian PSA

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the High Court has upheld the detention of an 18-year-old Kashmiri youth under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA), a law widely criticized for enabling arbitrary arrests and indefinite detention without trial.

According to Kashmir24, Justice Rahul Bharti rejected the petition filed against the detention under the Public Safety Act.

Court records show that after a dossier was submitted by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Pulwama, alleging the youth’s involvement in “anti-national activities,” the District Magistrate of Pulwama had ordered his detention on April 30, 2025.
