Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in a bid to sever Kashmiris’ links with their past and Hinduize them culturally, the Modi regime has replaced the administrative setup of dozens of confiscated schools linked to Jamaat-e-Islami, further tightening its control over educational institutions in the territory.
According to Kashmir24, the Delhi-installed administration has earlier taken over 58 more private schools associated with Jamaat-e-Islami and its Falah-e-Aam Trust, officials confirmed. Most schools are located in north Kashmir. The move follows an earlier takeover of 215 FAT-affiliated schools in August 2025.
FAT once ran 350 schools across the occupied territory before it was declared unlawful in 1990. Nearly 60,000 students and 4,000 staff are enrolled in the network.
