Jammu: Indian security forces on Wednesday launched a cordon and search operation near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district following information about suspicious movement, security officials said.


Jammu: Indian security forces on Wednesday launched a cordon and search operation near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district following information about suspicious movement, security officials said.

Rashtriya Rifles troops along with police personnel cordoned off Bihari Rakh forest and adjoining villages in Mendhar sector after receiving information about suspicious movement of some people, believed to be terrorists.

They said cordon and search operations were also underway in adjoining areas of Kasbalari Barila, Hyundai Gali and nearby Mankot.

According to officials, no encounter with suspected terrorists has taken place so far.
