New Delhi: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has strongly criticized the Indian government under Narendera Modi over its trade agreement with the United States, demanding immediate disclosure of the deal’s terms and conditions.
According to Kashmir24, in a statement posted on social media, Akhilesh Yadav said the government should either place the complete details of the agreement in the public domain or categorically deny allegations of external interference. He asserted that the ruling BJP is failing to maintain transparency on sensitive issues such as national sovereignty and economic interests, adding that ambiguity in such matters undermines public trust and country’s interest.
Akhilesh Yadav, who also served as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, warned that the agreement could have far-reaching consequences for farmers, traders, labourers, and both small and large-scale industries. He cautioned that any adverse impact on agriculture and industry would inevitably shrink employment opportunities, deepening uncertainty and frustration among the country’s youth.
