Incarcerated Kashmiri MP slams Jamia Masjid closure, urges dialogue with Kashmiris

 

Srinagar: Engineer Rashid, Indian parliament member from Baramulla in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), strongly criticized the continued closure of the Jamia Masjid Srinagar and restrictions on congregational prayers.

According to Kashmir24, the incarcerated MP Engineer Rashid raised the issue while speaking in the Indian parliament, highlighting a range of concerns related to IIOJK.

Referring to recent religious occasions, Rashid extended greetings to people of Kashmir, noting that he was addressing the House while in custody.

He also questioned what he termed shifting narratives, citing the release of Ladakhi climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and asking how individuals previously labelled as foreign agents were now being viewed differently.
