Thousands defy restrictions to welcome Leader in Doda

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of people defied prohibitory orders imposed by authorities and gathered in large numbers in Doda district, highlighting growing public resentment against restrictions on civic and political activities.

According to Kashmir24, a massive crowd comprising men, women and children assembled to welcome Meraj Malik, a political leader, following his release from detention, despite strict orders banning public gatherings. The scale of participation reflected widespread defiance of the administration’s attempt to curb public expression and mobilization.

Eyewitness accounts said people from different areas of Chenab Valley came out in large numbers, forming a long procession that grew significantly as it moved towards Doda. Residents along the route extended support by offering water and food, while many joined the gathering spontaneously, turning it into a major public event.
