New Delhi Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Arshad Madani has strongly condemned Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat for his recent “Ghar Wapsi” statements, warning that such rhetoric spreads hatred and endangers India’s constitutional values.
According to Kashmir24 , in a post on X, Madani described Bhagwat’s call for arranging a “Ghar Wapsi” for “twenty crore Muslims” as unprecedented in the past seven decades and deeply disturbing. He wrote, “Any voice which leads the country toward ruin, destruction, unrest, and mutual enmity cannot be a voice of loyalty to India.”
The remarks follow Bhagwat’s address in Lucknow, where he called for greater unity within Hindu society, stated that they need to be “cautious,” even though he said they are “not threatened” by anyone. Bhagwat also called for accelerating the process of “Ghar Wapsi”, encouraging efforts to care for those who return to Hinduism.
“Ghar Wapsi” is a term used by Hindutva groups in India for programs aimed at converting non-Hindus, mostly Muslims and Christians, back to Hinduism. Critics argue that these campaigns are coercive, communal, and politically motivated, often sparking tensions and violence.
